Date: Monday 19th April Time: 7.00pm sharp Location: Blue Room, Student Centre Its the last meeting of the year where the present committtee will all stand down from their positions and elections will be held for next years committee. Any one who has attended an event is entitled to vote. If you haven't been to an event this year you won't be able to vote. The positions this year will be: Captain Secretary Treasurer Beginners Officer Race Officer
If you want to run for a position just send an e-mail into us at
This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it
.
Being on committee is a lot of fun, but also a lot of work. You get to have input in the events the club runs, and the direction it takes. You do get recognition from a lot of people during the year, but a lot of what you do goes unnoticed, you do need to be prepared to spend a lot of time in Kiltiernan (and actually like dendex!), and calling people at the start of the year to get involved. Its a lot of fun meeting new members and people involved in the sport, especially freshers week!
To be eligible for a committee position you need have attended 3 events at Kiltiernan. All nominations need to be in 24 hours before. If you are running for captain you need to submit a nomination form 3 days in advance and have at least 4 signatures from current members. There'll be free food and drink available at the night and we will be heading out for one last big night before exams. Thanks for a great year!

Date: 13th & 14th November 2009
Location: Midlothian Snowsports Centre, Edinburgh, Scotland
BUDS is the first major competitive event of the BUSC (British Universtiy Snowsports Council) year.
For first timers, it gives an insight into what BUSC events are all about; exceptional entertainments and inspiring competitions for every competitor, regardless of experience.
For Returners, it’s the chance to rekindle old rivalries and strengthen the friendships that emanate from them.
BUDS is the only BUSC event held on dry slope, and provides a platform for the large numbers of students who have grown up through the grass roots British system.
An ever exciting freestyle programme and a full race schedule allows for competitors of any level to take part, gaining the honour of representing their university.
The proven base of Hillend, Scotland provides two of the key ingredients for a successful BUDS. The first is access to the longest, steepest dry slope in Britain, and the second is the direct availability of both easy cheap accommodation and Edinburgh’s large volume venues for music events and prize giving.
This year’s events crew are lining up some great acts and have now confirmed City Club as the venue for Friday night.
The BUDS ball on the Saturday night is returning to Murrayfield after a 3 year absence away since the infamous 2007 ball...

The next Race training will take place MONDAY 12/10/2009 in Kilternan. This training is open to paralell skiers ( you don't have to have any racing experience) and
costs 20 euros.
If you wish to attend call or txt me 0851115741 so I
can make sure everyone has a space in a car. we are meeting at 6:15 at
the number 10 bus stop (the bus stops in front of the Quinn school) in
UCD.
If your comming to Kilternan for the first time don't worry it'll be fun...
There is also an opportunity for some people to do intermediate lessons if they want. They will also cost 20euro just phone me so that I can book you a place.
What Do I need to bring?
the only essential thing to bring is gloves, even if they are only crappy woollen mittens, you will not be allowed on the slopes glove-less.
They provide boards/skis/boots /poles and it is included in the price (there's no discount for bringing up your own gear)
We recommend:
-Hat + warm clothes (it gets very windy up there)
-Tracksuit pants (or some other water resistant trousers, not jeans)
-A choccy bar or snack (you will be up there for the guts of 3 hrs, you need to keep those energy levels up!)
See ya later ... Ch
